Isn't he just gorgeous?It's been years since we've had a great blue heron in our yard, the kids and I really enjoyed watching him, even though he ate some of our fish!

- I've always had my hands in one medium or another.. from making Christmas ornaments with my Mom to painting sets for the high school musicals. After several years managing stationery & gift shops, I decided upon a career change. Determined to pursue a more creative avenue I enrolled in a Regional Occupational Training program for one year where I studied graphic design and illustration. Upon completing this program I was awarded a scholarship to The Academy of Art College in San Francisco, and in addition, I was awarded a scholarship by the Society of Illustrators, San Francisco. After college, I worked as a freelance designer for several advertising agencies before leaving work to begin my family.

Eeek! We had one visit our yard a couple of years ago and lost the most beautiful koi...they're impressive birds, but will keep coming back if they know you have fish. They say a statue of another large bird will help, and barring that, net the pond.
